The restrictions have eased and it’s time to have fun in Goa. But there is a catch, one can only enter Goa if they are fully vaccinated or otherwise have a negative RT-PCR test report. Though travelers from Kerala have to carry an RT-PCR test report. The Goa Government has been very alert and won’t allow tourists without this. No person in the state is allowed to roam around without a mask, be it a resident or a tourist.
Goa Airport Director Gagan Malik expressed that reopening Goa for tourists was a “good sign,”
“Aviation industry has suffered huge losses (due to COVID). In Goa, we had an average of 77 flight operations per day, which stands at 30 now. All airlines barring one have restarted their operations,” he further added.
Not only the aviation industry but also others like the hospitality industry have suffered huge losses. That being said, all industries connected with any kind of traveling and tourism have suffered a major setback since the pandemic started.
If you are fully vaccinated, traveling to Goa is a great option now as most of the tourist spots are open and covid cases all around are also on a decline.
The regular shops in Goa are open from 7 am to 7 pm as usual while restaurants are allowed to operate till 11 pm. Other nightlife places like lounges and pubs will also remain till 11 pm.
One can travel on the railways. The government has also not allowed Jeep Safaris till at least October. There hasn’t been any news on the casinos opening as yet. Tourists can go and see the Dudhsagar waterfall and other waterfalls in Goa from a distance since locals don’t want the tourists to come near the waterfalls as yet.
Since it’s the monsoon season, water sports are not operational as of now. Along with that, cruise travel is also not allowed since it can get risky with high tides.
Talking about the travel update, Nilesh Shah, President of Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) said that Goa is now ready to welcome tourists with open hearts.
He also said that strict guidelines have been laid down for the tourism business. A majority of the locals of Goa have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and hopefully, in the next 90 days, the entire population will likely be vaccinated with both doses.
