The Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) Goa Chapter made a significant impact at the Amazing Goa Summit and Expo held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Stadium in Bambolim with the successful organization of MSME Adhiveshan 2.0. Founded in 1991, LUB is a nationwide organization dedicated to the development of India’s micro, small, and medium industries. Since its inception under the leadership of Shri Rajkumar Kamat in 2023, the Goa Chapter has rapidly grown, now representing over 100 members from various industry sectors across the state.

Insights and Innovations

The event featured thought-provoking sessions by prominent speakers. CA Maheshwar Marathe discussed “New Era Incentives for MSMEs,” shedding light on forward-thinking strategies and financial benefits available to MSMEs. Additionally, Senior Scientist Abhay B. Fulke from CSIR-NIO Mumbai presented “Waste to Wealth: R&D Innovations Transforming India’s Bioeconomy,” underscoring how research-driven solutions can turn environmental challenges into sustainable opportunities.

Addressing the Challenges and Opportunities for MSMEs in Goa

A key highlight was the panel discussion on “Opportunities and Challenges Facing MSMEs in Goa,” led by LUB executive committee member Pallavi Salgaocar. Panelists included Pravimal Abhishek, IAS and MD of GIDC, Shri Manguirish Raikar, Chairman of Assocham Goa, Aniruddh Dempo, President of GSIA, Shri P.P. Kulkarni, Assistant Director of MSME DFO Goa, and LUB executive council member Rahul Parab. Together, they delved into the unique opportunities and challenges faced by local enterprises, emphasizing the need for collaborative solutions.

Honoring Excellence and Growth in MSME

LUB also hosted a Vendor Development Program with leaders from major public sector units, including NBCC, Mormugao Port Trust, Goa Shipyard, and ONGC, aimed at fostering valuable partnerships between MSMEs and public sector enterprises. During the awards ceremony, Lit Air founders Rohan Nadkarni and Sachin Shah were celebrated in the Startup category, while Zantye’s Cashewnuts won the Scale-Up category, and Sneha Bhagwat of Oorja Wellness Centre was honored in the Women-Led MSME category.

Leadership Transition

In a ceremonious moment, Pallavi Salgaocar was appointed as the new President of the LUB Goa Chapter, succeeding Shri Rajkumar Kamat. Other newly appointed officers include Mudit Agarwal as General Secretary, Jayesh Raikar as Vice President, Vibhor Keny as Treasurer, and Rahul Parab as Joint Secretary, for the 2025-27 term.

Esteemed Guests and Vision for the Future

Industries Minister Shri Mauvin Godinho and Guest of Honour Shri Suresh Prabhu praised the efforts of LUB Goa, commending the organization’s dedication to fostering a robust ecosystem for Goa’s business community. Shri Suresh Prabhu highlighted the event’s role in propelling a future of innovation and sustainable growth for local industries.

Through MSME Adhiveshan 2.0, Laghu Udyog Bharati’s Goa Chapter showcased its commitment to empowering Goa’s vibrant MSME sector, contributing to a thriving, resilient business landscape for the state.
