Fidalgo is a centrally located business hotel in capital city of Goa organizes the Mohammed Rafi Musical Nights every year as their traditional event said Mr. Tapas De the General Manager of Hotel Fidalgo. According to Mr. Tapas, they started this event a few years back as an experiment but in due course of time it became sort of traditional Event for them. “Now we organize the event every year and we have fixed amount people who attend this event every year without fail,” he said.

According to Mr. Tapas, they have very limited seating arrangements that take up to 400 people and every year they always sold out by the time of the event. “We put around 400 tickets out for the sale and practically we had to say no, too many people due to space constraint,” said Tapas.

The event marks the anniversary of Late Mohammed Rafi who dedicated 40 years of his life to the music industry if India. Rafi Ji started his career in Mumbai in the year 1944 with his first song “Hindustan ke hum hain” from the film ‘Pehle Aap’. After that there was no looking back till 1980 when he recorded his last song “Shaam phir kyun udaas hai dost for film “Aas Paas”.

Mohammed Rafi Sang hundreds of song in various Indian and foreign languages he was one of the most versatile singer Indian film industry ever had. His rage of songs consists of classical, patriotic, Qawwalis, Gazals to Nazms and Bhajans. His songs always remained evergreen so much so that even after him people still listen to his songs. “Muzko Mere Baad Zamaana Dhundega” is what Rafi sang once and that song became an immortal memory of Rafi Saheb.

“To pay tribute to this legend, we at Hotel Fidalgo host this event every year since 2010. All Mohammed Rafi fans have something to look forward to as Hotel Fidalgo pays tribute to the maestro on the 31st of July every year. A musical night is being organized at The Great Hall from 7 pm to 11 pm along with a lavish buffet spread of Multicuisine specialties,” said the General Manager Mr. Tapas De.

“The hotel has been hosting these musical concerts as an annual feature to pay homage to the maestro. There is always a fondness for Rafi’s evergreen compositions among our patrons and we arrange these concerts every year to recreate the golden era of Rafi for his fans. Our shows have always received a tremendous response.” He added.
