A big 250 seat restaurant run by the celebrity chef Sara Todd caught fire on Wednesday afternoon and before anybody could do anything everything turned into the ashes. How this happened and what exactly caused the fire is a matter of an investigation. Todd first shot to fame in 2014 when she took part in MasterChef Australia, a competitive cooking game show.
According to the reports, in one of the most unfortunate incident, the fire broke out in the Antares restaurant, situated in one of the most famous beaches in North Goa.
This beachside restaurant at Vagator is run by the MasterChef Australia contestant Sarah Todd. The social media has been taken over by shock due to this incident. People have uploaded videos of the establishment on fire.
Although, the exact reason for the cause of the fire is not known. The police are carrying out their investigations for the same. “The flames were seen around 4:30 pm and fire tenders were rushed to the spot,” said inspector CL Patil said.
The place is famous for its Australian touch and exquisite cuisine, along with scenic views of the ocean and entertainment. The restaurant was frequented by many Bollywood celebrities
According to an NDTV report. Fortunately, there has been no threat to life or injuries reported. But the property underwent severe damages causing a huge loss to both owners and Sara Todd.
Mr. Patil guessed that the fire may have been caused due to scrap being burned in a neighbouring compound. “Strong winds carried the sparks to Antares where coconut fronds were kept on the rooftop. Fire tenders from Mapusa and Panjim were rushed to the spot,” Patil said.
According to Conde Nast Traveller, The fire took an hour to douse and the police still remain unaware of the cause.

According to the notice issued by Antares, the fire had started from the neighboring plot and then quickly spread to the roof and of the restaurant and set the restaurant ablaze. Many people witnessed this incident and in just within the matter hours, the news went viral across social media.

The 250-seated restaurant is reportedly run by a Delhi-businessman Ashish Kapur and was managed by Todd. Antares is an Australian themed restaurant located at the Hill Top in Vagator facing the stunning ocean views. The property also contains 13 luxury Cottages and Beach Club.
