As a young girl, she often daydreamed about becoming an actress. “I always felt like the odd one out in class when everyone else talked about becoming doctors or engineers. I knew I wanted to be like Madhuri Dixit,” she admits, revealing how her admiration for Bollywood’s icons shaped her childhood dreams.
Her aspirations led her to pursue a degree in fashion design, merging her creative instincts with her desire to be part of the entertainment world. Fashion, though not directly related to acting, provided her with a platform to connect with the entertainment industry and further honed her artistic sensibilities. “I always had an emotional connection with entertainment, and I realized early on that once you set your sights on something, your mind works in mysterious ways to help you achieve it,” Acharya shares.

Acharya’s journey to the film industry wasn’t a smooth one, especially since she came from a non-film background. While entering the entertainment world is often seen as the most difficult part, staying relevant in such a volatile and competitive space is arguably more challenging. I wanted to support scripts and stories that resonated with me personally, rather than waiting for roles that others thought were suited for me,” Acharya explains.
Stepping into the world of production has allowed her to engage with the business side of filmmaking, an area she has grown increasingly passionate about. “Many filmmakers don’t realize that the business aspect of film production is equally important. Without a solid business plan, even the most beautiful films can fail to see the light of day,” she notes. This realization inspired her to become a producer—ensuring that good stories, backed by thoughtful planning, have the chance to thrive.
As a producer, Acharya has learned that the role requires far more than just financial backing. “A producer is not just a financier. They guide the entire creative process, from the script to the final product. The people behind the scenes—the producers—are often the unsung heroes who turn a concept on paper into a fully realized film,” she explains.

Her career as both an actress and producer has led Acharya to some of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. Among them, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa stands out as a place of significant importance. “IFFI is a paradise for entertainment and film professionals. It’s a place to network, learn, and grow,” she says, describing the festival as a platform where invaluable industry connections are made. “It’s not just about what people post on social media. These events open up a world of opportunities, giving you the chance to meet exceptional personalities from around the world,” she adds.
Her involvement with global film festivals such as Cannes has broadened her professional network even further. “Cannes is a much bigger platform with a far-reaching global audience. It gave me exposure to the international film community and helped me expand my horizons,” Acharya reflects. The experiences she has gathered from these high-profile events have solidified her role as not just an actress but a versatile and well-connected industry professional.
Learning from Industry Veterans: A Valuable Experience
Over the years, Acharya has worked across multiple industries and languages, gaining valuable insights into the filmmaking process. One standout moment in her career was working with Kannada superstar Dr. Shiva Rajkumar. Initially intimidated, Acharya soon discovered that the veteran actor was warm and welcoming. “Being a newcomer, I was cautious about everything. But when I met Dr. Shiva Rajkumar, all my fears vanished. He is one of the kindest people I’ve met, and his humility left a lasting impression on me,” she recalls. The experience taught her invaluable lessons about the importance of kindness and professionalism in the industry.

This value of kindness and humility is something she strives to practice every day in her professional and personal life. “ I believe in treating people with respect and empathy, no matter their position or status,” Acharya adds.

That’s my ambition,” she says confidently. Her focus is on co-producing and producing content that reflects her values and vision. “I want to back projects that I truly believe in, stories that will be remembered for years to come,” she shares.
Acharya’s passion extends beyond her own work; she is also committed to supporting emerging filmmakers and technicians who may just need a little push to bring their ideas to life. “I want to help talented individuals find their voice in the industry and provide them with the opportunity to succeed,” she says.

Acharya encourages aspiring filmmakers and actors to remain authentic and true to themselves. “Be unique. Be authentic. That’s when you will truly get noticed,” she advises, quoting a lesson she learned from actress Kriti Sanon at IFFI.
