TTAG CALLS ON TOURISM MINISTER BABU AJGAONKAR TO DISCUSS THE ISSUES RELATED TO TOURISM INDUSTRY IN GOA

The newly formed TTAG body had met with the tourism minister of Goa, Mr. Manohar Ajgaonkar, and assured of the solutions to various problems concerning tourism following a meeting with the Travel and  Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) on Tuesday.

The TTAG delegation led by  Mr. Adv. Francisco Braganca – immediate past  President,   Mr. Ernest Dias – Vice President, Mr. Ramnath Babu Quenim – Vice President, Guitry Velho – Secretary and  Mr. Nilesh Shah – Executive member met Mr. Ajgaonkar  at the Paryatan Bhavan today where  issues  concerning beach cleaning,  non-participation of Goa at  key international exhibitions and fairs,  need for expeditious  completion of Master Plan and   issues  with regards  to taxi services were discussed. 

The TTAG  appealed to the  Minister for Tourism to  resolve issues pertaining to taxi services and for implementation of meters and introduction of an App and to also increase the bus services from the Goa airport to  Calangute and vice-versa.  The delegation also drew the attention of Mr. Ajgaonkar to the urgent  need for clean beaches and  for completion  of the Master Plan and Tourism Policy which would facilitate  effective implementation of various tourism plans, projects and policies.

Mr. Ajgaonkar sought the co-operation of the TTAG in making Goa a premium tourism destination.

During the deliberations, the TTAG delegation assured full support and co-operation to the government while implementing its plans and proposals for improving the tourism and hospitality industry in Goa. Being a leading tourism destination, the TTAG appealed to Mr. Ajgaonkar to find amicable solution and settlement to the mentioned issues in the interest of Goa Tourism and its stakeholders.

The Director of Tourism, Mr.  Menino D’Souza and Director of Transport  & Managing Director of Goa Tourism Development  Corporation (GTDC), Mr. Nikhil Desai were also present.
